Prayers
for
Jessica Carter
Welcome to Jessica's Web Site. I am Greg Carter, Jessica's dad. Jessica has been a perfectly healthy normal beautiful girl since her birth 24 years ago. She is absolutely full of life with a wonderful since of humor and is very dedicated to her career. Over the past 3 years Jessica has been managing a Hair Salon for a large corporation and she is a very hard worker, often working very long demanding hours. Jessica has always taken her work very seriously. She was recently promoted and transferred to manage a much larger salon and was just beginning to see some of her well deserved career dreams starting to come true when she got sick. August 22, 2010 Jessica got very sick to her stomach and wound up in the ER at St Vincent's East in Birmingham. It seemed that no matter what the Doctors tried Jessica only got worse. After many tests is was determined that Jessica's kidneys had failed. To this very day we are unsure as to the exact reason why. We were introduced to the best Kidney specialist in the world, (our honest opinion), Dr. Azita Takeshian or as we call her Dr. T. After several days of dialysis and trying different medicines Jessica's Kidneys did not improve and after a biopsy and other tests, it was determined that Jessica's kidneys were dead and she must have a Kidney Transplant. As you can imagine, this was a terrible blow to Jessica and our family. Since August 22, Jessica has spent more than 60 days in the hospital and has undergone many many painful tests and has suffered various side effects from her kidney issues such as extremely high blood pressure, seziures, headaches, fatigue and stomach issues. Jessica currently goes to dialysis 3 times a week and is back living at home with us. She is on medical leave from her job and will not be able to work again until after the transplant. My wife Dee has stopped working to take care of Jessica full time and is constantly by her side 24-7.
